This is fine grained granite originating from either Africa or China. This is one of the most popular granites because of its great contrasts between polished and unpolished surfaces. Excellent contrast enables fine detailed design work on its surface and excellent lettering legibility. | |

This is medium grained granite that is quarried in Quebec. It has white, black and grey grains of even size. This granite has reduced contrast between the polished and unpolished surfaces requiring lettering and design to be deep in the panels and polishing is removed within the design area. This colour is most often used for the base portion of the monument. |  |
This is medium grained granite that is quarried in Ontario. The pink hue comes from the slightly larger orange flakes mixed with the smaller black and beige flakes. This granite has reduced contrast between the polished and unpolished surfaces requiring lettering and design to be deep in the panels and polishing is removed within the design area. |

This is fine grained granite originating from South Africa. This granite produces a calming affect with its blue/grey hue mixed with black grains. This granite provides good contrast between the polished and unpolished surfaces enabling detailed design work and excellent lettering legibility. |  |

This is fine grained granite originating from India. This light blue to purple granite has a swirl effect with black, brown and maroon lines. This granite has reduced contrast between the polished and unpolished surfaces requiring lettering and design to be deep in the panels and polishing is removed within the design area. |  |
This is medium grained granite originating from India. While most of the grains are red, it has clear or grey grains mixed throughout. This granite provides good contrast for lettering purposes, but less contrast in the design work. Designs require deep lines to remain visible and polishing within the design is removed. |
